  2. Direct Messages

    Direct messages on Twitter is hands down the best ways I drive traffic to my websites. In recent times, DMs have been seen to be too spammy or full of bots on Twitter which is absolutely correct. Nonetheless, there’s a still a pretty good way to draw traffic from this medium.

  3. Leverage the Power of Click to Tweets in Your Website Content

    Click to tweets are one of my favorite Twitter marketing strategies to use and have been so for a very long time. Just as the name implies, Click to Tweet is a program that allows your website visitors or readers to share certain quotes (from your website) to Twitter.

  4. Pin a Link to Your Most Valuable Webpage

    To get more traffic to a particular website, blog or landing page, I like to employ Twitter pins. If you’re not too familiar with what a Twitter pin is, it’s a feature which allows Twitter users to pin their most important or relevant tweet to the top of their feeds.

  5. Publish Shareable Content

    Simply put, you can not get easy traffic from Twitter just by sharing your links every now and then. In fact, most times, less than 1% of your Twitter followers will visit your links. Thus a great rule to follow is to get people to share your links.

  6. Find Users that Share Similar Links and Ask them to Check Yours too

    This is yet another powerful twitter strategy that we recommend. Basically, you get users that have tweeted similar links to yours and hit them up to check yours.

  7. If You Have a Blog, Always Tag People You’ve Mentioned

    By tagging people you’ve mentioned, you are increasing the chances of your content getting shared. In fact, most times, 50-70% of people I mention in our blog posts always retweet our links.

  8. Put More Efforts on Tweets with Higher Clicks

    Testing and optimization is a strategy to make sure your efforts are not going to waste. We use this same strategy to make sure Uniclix is optimized for the best performance for you.

  9. Tease Your Followers (by sending ‘incomplete’ tweets)

    I love this strategy because it doesn’t only get you more twitter traffic but can also increase the number of engagements you get on your Twitter account.

  10. Share Links and Ask for Retweets

    Make it a habit of including “PLS RT” in your tweets, study shows tweets with this perform a little better.

  11. Find Interesting Twitter Chats and Participate

    Here’s a long list of Twitter chats that you can join. Pick 2 or 3 and be constant with them, provide value and build relationships.

  12. After 24 Hours, Retweet Your Tweets

    We found that Retweeting our tweets gave a little boost to tweets that are around 24 to 48 hours old.

Over the years, I’ve found that Twitter Marketing requires a mix of effective strategies and also a system to help with some of the tasks. Averagely, to grow your twitter account, you need to constantly at least 5 tweets every day.

In fact, her at Uniclic, we tend to send more than just 5 tweets. Why’s that so?

Well, with twitter’s growth in usage and content, we believe every business must put out content to match up with the content-consumption rate.

According to Internet Live Stats, over 6,000 tweets go live every second! This means 350,000 tweets are sent each minute of the day and over 500 million daily.

In fact, here’s a live count on Internet Live Stat today (it’s just 12:38 PM).

Now, how can you keep up with this high publishing rate? Your tweets may most likely get lost which is why we recommend you use Uniclix Application.

2. Direct Messaging

Direct messages on Twitter is hands down the best ways I drive traffic to my websites. In recent times, DMs have been seen to be too spammy or full of bots on Twitter which is absolutely correct. Nonetheless, there’s a still a pretty good way to draw traffic from this medium.

Want to know? Carefully read on!

In the past few months, I’ve set an automated system that builds relationships with my Twitter followers and end goal is traffic. It’s a strategy I personally developed and is 0% spammy.

In fact, I get replies from people saying they love how I go about Twitter DMs therefore they reply my DMs which they hardly do.

Sincerely speaking, I myself used to hate the idea of automating direct messages but I’ve found a secret strategy that;

Isn’t spammy AT ALL!

Converts really well.

Here’s how to do it;

Firstly, you have to come up with a unique idea to get your followers to visit your blog. Think of it as your unique ‘DM strategy’. Or think of it as a bait for getting visits to your blog.

For me, I thought about reading their [my followers] most recent blog articles and letting them know what I genuinely think about it then asking for the same favor back.

Think of something that could get them excited and would be willing to return the favor back. For example, you could ask them to drop the links to their YouTube channels to subscribe and drop maybe 2 comments on any of their videos.

I bet literally anyone would be happy to return the favor.

Here’s the exact template that I use:

[NOTE: I wouldn’t advise you copy and paste this template but rather use it as a guide to write a unique one for yourself}

Hi, [NAME], do you blog? If so, what’s your blog URL? I’m Simon, btw!

This is an automated message but I’ll check your blog, read your most recent blog article and tell you what I think. I’ll probably tweet it out too if it’s great 😉

Cheers, Simon.

How does it work?

When readers go through your content, they may like a certain quote and would want to share it with their social media followers. Instead of traditionally highlighting, copying and sharing these quotes, your readers can simply click a ‘Click to Tweet” button to share it on Twitter.

Also, they don’t just share your quotes but also include a link back to your website or blog. So for instance, if you write or publish a website content on your website, you would add a tweetable link (click to tweet) which your readers can simply click it to tweet it.

Here’s an example;

When readers go through your content, they may like a certain quote and would want to share it with their social media followers – @s_zakuu Click To Tweet

Got it? Great!

Now how do you insert these tweetable links in your articles or videos content?

Simply head over to ClicktoTweet.com, sign in with your Twitter account and authorize to get started (it’s totally free).

For WordPress users, there’s a wordpress plugin which makes this even easier to highlight any text and include tweetable links in your blog posts. To do this, head over to Betterclicktotweet.com, download the zip file of the plugin and upload it in your plugins tab.

You can also use the “Add a New Plugin” tab on your WordPress dashboard and simply search for “Better Click to Tweet”.

To get more traffic to a particular website, blog or landing page, I like to employ Twitter pins. If you’re not too familiar with what a Twitter pin is, it’s a feature which allows Twitter users to pin their most important or relevant tweet to the top of their feeds.

With this feature, you can bring any tweet on your page to the top of your feed which means no newer tweet can override its position on your profile.

uniclix twitter

Any Twitter user who comes over to your page will see your pinned tweet first before any other tweet. Generating more eye balls to the shared link.

For instance, if I share any of our blog posts here on our social media marketing blog, we could pin it to the top of our profile hence any new or returning Twitter user who visits our page will see the tweet to the blog post first.

5. Publish Shareable Content

If I am being honest with you, getting from Twitter is NOT EASY!

Simply put, you can not get easy traffic from Twitter just by sharing your links every now and then. In fact, most times, less than 1% of your Twitter followers will visit your links. Thus a great rule to follow is to get people to share your links.

Don’t bother about sharing your links on your page like the experts always preach. What you want to be doing is getting other people to share your links.

Think influencers, twitter marketers, your customers, thought leaders, friends, colleagues and so forth.

Like I’ve mentioned, your Twitter account could only generate 100s of clicks in a month (depending on the number of followers you have) but what if 100s more users could share your links?

Here’s the math;

You get roughly 5 clicks from your shared tweets.

You reach out to your circle and get 100 people to tweet your link.

Say each bring 5 clicks, that’s 500!

But here’s the thing…

Reaching 100 people and getting them to share your links can be a lot of work. Here’s my advice;

Aim for the big guys.

Rather than going for people with a few 100 Twitter followers, reach influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers or even millions. With a single Tweet, you could get past 1000 clicks from the platform.

This is one strategy we always preach and use ourselves here at Uniclix.

This is yet another powerful twitter strategy that we recommend. Basically, you get users that have tweeted similar links to yours and hit them up to check yours.

This could be blog posts, landing pages or product pages.

To cite an example, whenever we publish a new blog post here, we occasional use the twitter search feature to find users who’ve tweeted similar links to ours and hit them up.

Here’s how to go about this;

Head to Twitter Advanced Search and login with your Twitter account. For the sake of this post, let’s assume you run an online store that sells iPhone cases. In this case we’ll use “Buy iPhone Cases”.

Hit ‘Enter’ or click the Search button.

Tons of users talking about iPhone cases. You could easily start up conversations and simply drop your links.

7. If You Have a Blog, Always Tag People You’ve Mentioned

By tagging people you’ve mentioned, you are increasing the chances of your content getting shared. In fact, most times, 50-70% of people I mention in our blog posts always retweet our links.

To do this, all you need is to do a little content revamp. Switch things up by adding or including niche influencers and thought leaders in your blog articles. I like to keep it between 7 – 15 mentions per article depending on the post length.

Once done, find their Twitter handles and share your blog post mentioning them. Think of something like this…

Use our Twitter scheduler, Uniclix, to automate these mentions and keep getting Retweets and Re-shares on auto pilot!

8. Put More Efforts on Tweets with Higher Clicks

Testing and optimization is a strategy to make sure your efforts are not going to waste. We use this same strategy to make sure Uniclix is optimized for the best performance for you.

The more you test and optimize in marketing, the better ROI you tend to get.

To get even more clicks from your Twitter account, you need to do more testing and optimization. In a nutshell, you need to test what works and do more of those.

Since we’re talking Twitter, you need to find the tweets that get the most clicks and keep retweeting them.

Why is this important?

For example, you may send a tweet today and get 0 clicks but send the same tweet tomorrow and yield 10 clicks to your website.

Why is that so? I’ll tell you…

Some clicks may be sent at the right time, some may go live at the wrong time. Also, some tweets may be retweeted by twitter influencers while some may not get any retweets.

If you send a tweet today but get zero clicks but get 10 clicks the next day, it may be that an influencer retweeted it. It may also be that the latter was sent at the right time when your followers are most active.

By testing and finding what works, you get to better understand which of your tweets perform best and why. To do this, you simply need to play around with your Twitter analytics!

Twitter analytics is a free Twitter tool that provides data on your account’s performance.

To know which tweets perform best, log into your Twitter account and click on your profile icon then click on ‘Analytics’.

Navigate to the ‘Tweets’ section and click on ‘Top Tweets’.

9. Tease Your Followers (by sending ‘incomplete’ tweets)

I love this strategy because it doesn’t only get you more twitter traffic but can also increase the number of engagements you get on your Twitter account.

What then do we mean by ‘Tease Your Followers?’

Well, it’s simple; all you need to do is ask share a tweet that’s not complete or does not reveal full details. For example, you could share a news report in a tweet by stating only a part of the story and asking user to go through the link to get the full details.

This could be list articles (listicles), where you mention some of the lists in your tweet and let users find out the remaining by visiting the page. It could also be a statistics, for example;

“500 million users now use Instagram Stories every day? Click the link below to find out 8 other shocking Instagram Stories stats and why your business should consider them.”

In fact, that’s a great tweet!

Other Relevant Tactics You Can Employ:

  1. Share Links and Ask for Retweets – Make it a habit of including “PLS RT” in your tweets, study shows tweets with this perform a little better.
  2. Find Interesting Twitter Chats and Participate – Here’s a long list of Twitter chats that you can join. Pick 2 or 3 and be constant with them, provide value and build relationships.
  3. After 24 Hours, Retweet Your Tweets –  We found that Retweeting our tweets gave a little boost to tweets that are around 24 to 48 hours old.
  4. Include a Different Link in Your Bio – Edit your profile and link to a different page in your bio and link to another in your website field in your profile settings.
