It’s more interesting to find that about 90% of businesses in the United States use social media for marketing purposes.

What does this mean?

Well, a lot of people are going to adopt social media and a lot of businesses are also going to adopt social media for marketing purposes.

And as a person looking to start using social media for business, you may decide to change your weird (for instance) twitter handle or username.

Obviously, you can’t use a twitter username like “cat234” or “teleboy872” for your business page. It won’t tell we’ll about your brand right?

But why Twitter?

75% of b2b businesses use twitter as part of their marketing strategy!

You need a twitter handle that matches your brand style and voice. Not some cat-loving or game-looking username with weird numbers attached.

Now how do you change your twitter handle or username? In this short post, we’re going to show you how to quickly do this on your mobile phone or on desktop but before that, what’s the difference between a twitter username (or handle) and a twitter name?

Difference Between Your Profile Name and Twitter Username

The username and name terms on twitter could be a bit confusing to some of use thus here’s what both terms are.

Twitter Username: your Twitter username (aka twitter handle) is a unique name that is used for logging in, sending direct messages and replies to other twitter users. It is also that name you give out to people when you’re asked “where should I follow you on twitter?”

It also has the “@“ symbol and doesn’t contain spaces, characters (with the exception of underscores). The maximum character limit for your Twitter username is 15 characters.

Twitter Name: On the other hand, your twitter name is your display name which is mostly your full name or your business name which is displayed on your profile and can go as long as 50 characters.

Your twitter display name is used to identify you to friends especially of your username isn’t your name or business name.
